If you’re looking for a high quality beat generator, then I am happy you found my website and I suggest you keep on reading.

Because this is the story of how I make hip hop music and more.

You being here on my site tell me that you too are interested in beat production and creating music, that be hip hop, techno, dubstep or whatever your interest is.

Making music nowadays ain’t so hard. You have probably heard about several techno beat maker’s available for PC. Technology has made it possible for us to make music directly from a laptop.

So I started experimenting. I fooled around with my friends copy of FL Studio, but this was way too technical and advanced for me to work out. I needed it to be simpler.

But finding the right product turned out to be harder than expected. Let me tell you, there are actually quite a few products to choose from! It is a confusing market for the beginner. I found products specifically made for techno, with very advanced features included. I found a few rock music creator’s. And they all looked very promising.

But these products are usually very expensive. It is very normal for a beat generator to cost around 300$, and that is a lot of money to pay for a product. So I wanted to get a cheaper product.

I found one to a very reasonable price, it is called DUBturbo and is sold for around 30$.

So this was the product I bought. I tried not to have too high expectations; a product at 30$ has to be shitty, right? But DUBTurbo made me change my mind. It was not shitty; but not flashy and advanced either. It gives me opportunities for creating my own music, but it is not as advanced as some of the very high quality products like FL Studio.

To summarize, the positive:

  • CHEAP
  • Easy to use
  • Can create high quality beats
  • Refund policy
  • Helpful tutorials
  • Additional offers, like a guide on how to sell your beats

And the downsides:

  • A bit slow support
  • Technical stuff like tempo you have to learn, but with a google search that will not be too big of a problem
  • Not so many advanced features

I believe DUBTurbo was a good choice when selecting a beat generator.

What to know before buying beat maker software

Before you buy yourself a beat generator, there is a few tips I would like to share with you. I wouldn’t want you to buy the music maker software just to be confused, and then give up on it. So I encourage you to read this article before buying anything.

How bad do you want this?

The first thing I want you to take a closer look at, is your passion. Ask yourself: “Is music my passion? If I KNEW I could make it as a professional beat producer, would I wake up in the morning feeling happy and excited about the day to come?”

Do this before reading any more….

Did you do it? Great!

If you honestly can answer yes to questions like those before, and your dreams truly are to be a badass DJ playing out beats to the cheering, dancing crowd, then you can make it. Go for it. Your passion is your fuel.

Are you willing to fail?

In a business like this you can’t expect to succeed the first time like some fairytale. You will need experience, and experience can’t be bought. With experience I mean like who to trust, what the best moves are, getting the best deal and so on. Get an agent you trust if you think you have some valuable material to sell, and go to a producer. Absolutely essential.

And the final question…

Are you willing to learn?

It takes time to learn how to make a beat. Make that high quality beats, cause’ nothing else sells. Don’t lose your patience. Be patient. The skill comes with time. The more practice, the better you get. You decide how quick you will get REALLY good.

And, please, don’t start out buying the most expensive DJ gear available out there. You can start out with a beat generator on your computer, for 30$ or so. This one I have personal experience with.

You are visiting this website for a reason, and as I don’t feel like wasting your precious time, let me introduce you to the best free music editing software, I have ever tried.

Audacity

Da-daaa! You have probably heard about this software before, as it is recommended on almost every thread on the internet about music maker software. And for a reason.

As said, Audacity is free. You have nothing to lose trying it out. You can download it for free here.

Features

A really nice feature with Audacity is how easy it is to use. If you are a novice in music production that is not a problem with this music editing software, as it is as easy to use as Word or Excel. The drag and drop feature is easy to use.

Exporting

The software’s export options makes it really for use to export your sounds to mp3, wav etc. and show it off to your friends… or what about a producer?

Effects

Audacity can remove any annoying sound effects from your music or personal recordings. Other effects include a built-in Echo, Phaser and Wah wah. Also, you can change the pitch of the song.

Recording

Directly from your computer you can record music your playing from e.g. a guitar, keyboard or microphone through the microphone jack. So, for example, you can create a song recording sounds from different instruments and edit them together for a song.

Beat generator guide – 3 tips for using DUBturbo

Hey, Andreas here.
It seems to me that a lot of people believe that when you get the right beat generator product, beat producing will be easy. I am here to tell you it’s not.
I don’t say this to discourage you. No way. I just want you to know that alike any sport or skill, it takes time to learn how to make a beat. I have been using DUBTurbo for a month or so writing this, and I haven’t FULLY mastered it yet.

But is this discouraging me? No. Why? Because it is fun. I like producing beats, and hope to make a living from it someday. And DUBTurbo can help me achieve this I believe.
Here are my three tips to help you master the best beat maker, I have ever tried:

1. Learn
This is a very simple concept: use the tutorials! Don’t just jump straight into beat creation, cause’ you may be discouraged, if you cannot work it out from the start. Learning from others can be a very effective method.

2. Be patient
Becoming skilled with something, that be sports or in this case maybe becoming a techno beat maker, takes time. Use this formula of mine if you would like: Time*Training=SKILL.

3. Don’t be too hard on yourself
Do not expect to be crafting out number one hits in your first week with this virtual beat maker. Your first few beats are, most likely, going to be rubbish. Real crap to be honest. But that’s okay. It is a part of the learning process, so take it easy.

Make money by selling your beats

If you have found yourself a quality beat generator, you can start make money by selling beats, you have created. I haven’t done this myself yet, but I have made the research necessary to help and guide you.

The first most essential step for starting a business is to get a website up and running. This is not nearly as hard as it may sound, the hard part is to make it rank and professional. Having a website is in no way expensive, all you need is a domain name (usually cost 9,95$) and hosting (price varies from company to company, but usually 10$/month). My recommendations for these are to buy the domain name from namecheap.com and hosting from either brainhost.com or bluehost.com. I use brainhost and namecheap myself.

The domain name you choose has to distinguish you from the competitors. It is unique for you, so incorporate your “nickname” or whatever name you have chosen for your career.

Marketing your website is a science itself, so I won’t come into that in this article. It is way too important and lengthy, but you can hire someone professional to make sure, everything is done correctly. But try to keep in control.

Don’t sell the exclusive rights to anyone cheaply, would be a shame if the beat turns out to be a number one hit and you only made, well, say 1,000$ when potentially you could have made 1,000,000$. Be very careful with selling the beats, you have created with your beat generator, mixed with your equipment etc.

Two sites, I have heard good things about, is rocbattle.com and sellmorebeats.com. rocbattle.com sell your beats with 100% commission for you. Sellmorebeats.com is very helpful for increasing sales of your beats. Both sites are founded by Allen Brown.

How to become a DJ

Living a life as a DJ seems to be one big party – VIP, earning a fortune and earning tons of attention from young, dancing fans on the dancefloor. In this article, I hope to provide you with some valid and good-to-know information on how to become a DJ.

The DJ’s job is playing music appropriate for the party. If you’re hired as a DJ to a funeral, they won’t be expecting you to play high volume dance charts (I don’t think the scenario of being hired for a funeral is very likely, but you get my point). You can mix this up with beats you have created yourself, and this way you can also be well-known for your creativity.

The first thing, you need to do, is research. What music is popular nowadays? Go to parties and concerts, where the big names in the industry play. Study their style, the way they mix the music up. How are the people reacting to him? What kind of people is showing up to these concerts? For this part, I highly recommend you check out footage of Deadmau5 and Tiesto as a start. I was at a concert with Deadmau5 at Roskilde Festival 2011, where he had the entire audience consisting of 70,000 people in the palm of his hand.

Second, you need equipment. A CD mixer, speakers and a set of headphones. A DJ kit so to speak. This is kind of expensive, so you have to be serious about it. You can try some software for creating beats out here. It can give you a taste of what is needed.

And last, all there is to do is practice, practice and then some more practice. When you feel like you are experienced enough for gigs, you can contact a DJ agency, but don’t expect to succeed the first time. Just don’t give up if you get rejected a few times.

Make hip hop beats – writing the lyrics

Hear music from any good hip hop musician, and think of their lyrics. Think of the lyrics importance in the piece of hip hop music, you are hearing.

With hip hop music, the lyrics have a way bigger role than in rock music and genres alike. The lyrics are the focus point when rapping; they shall reflect the mood of the beat and fit to the image of the rapper.

To start crafting out some lyrics, you will need a beat. I will mention some of the best beat making software to create your own beats on this blog. Making lyrics fit a beat and not the other way around is the easiest way.

So the first step really is to start out and crafting some lyrics to a beat. Just start practicing. Take 30 minutes, choose an instrumental version of a hip hop song, you already know, and start writing down some lyrics. This is no easy task, but Eminem didn’t make hits overnight; it is the results of many hours of practice, and you too can make a good piece of music!

And I’m sure you already know this, but I will mention it anyway: rhyming is important! This can only be learned with experience.

Start writing your own lyrics! Mastery comes with experience, and experience is earned through dedicated training.

We live in a wonderful time of technology, making it possible for the average Joe to create his own, high quality music. Because now he can get his hands on his own beat making software!

To be a modern day DJ, creating your own music, doesn’t require tons of expensive and advanced studio equipment. You can start out crafting music in a couple of minutes if you really want to! The best beat maker software available on the market today gives us the power to create music straight from our laptops.

If we can make the software work for us…

That is the downside making music this way. We need to learn how to use the software. But don’t let this discourage you; it takes time to learn to play an instrument too! Don’t expect to be making number one hits on your first evening with the software, but with time and practice you can master it.
